The “Balcony of Europe” is located en the center of the village, a panoramic viewpoint with imposing views of the sea and the coast of Málaga and Granada. The sunsets are breathtaking and can be appreciated from the viewpoint or having a drink in one of the cafes.

The name “Balcón de Europa” was proposed by King Alfonso XII who visited the area in 1885 after a disastrous earthquake, and was captivated by the stage and gave it the name of “Balcón de Europa”, because it was like if  Europe ended there; the next would be África and curius anecdote, it was in Nerja that the Trivial Pursuit game was invented ant form of this game is due to the shape of the Balcony of Europe. 


The beach of Burriana is recogized by the quality of its waters and regulary recives the “Q of Turist Quality in Beaches”.

It is a modern area, almost an independient village.

The beach is about 800 meters long and a promenade along the beach. There you can enjoy all kids of leisure that is though pedalos, area of hammocks, game for childrens, beach volleyball or driving.

The promenade “Paseo Marítimo” is called Paseo Marítimo Antonio Mercero, the name of the producer of the famous television series of the 80:”Verano Azul”.


Installed in the Verano Azul Parck, “La Dorada” is inspired boy the boas used to shoot the 80´s series “Verano Azul”, which was dismantled.

The series, as well as the character of Chanquete, the owner of the ship became a true sociological phenomenon in Spain. He has been considered one of the most beloved characters in Spanish television.

In addition, a street of Nerja was baptized with the name of “Antonio Ferrandis. Chanquete”.

and, the tourism office of Nerja organizes visit of Nerja with the emblematic sites where the famous series was filmed. 


The Natural Park “Cliffs of Maro-Cerro Gordo” forms a narrow strip parellel to the coast of about twelve kilometrers wide.

This place is characterized by its abrupt and spectacular cliffs, of up to 75 m of unevenness, between which are intercalant beautiful beaches and small coves. In additition, these cliffs enclose a high environmental value where abundant scrub, flora and fauna. Fish and seabirds are abundant, whith a presence of sea gulls an hawks.

The boat trip allows the visitors to get close to places that are not very accessible and grat beauty, where the dolphins that cosses the Mediterranean coast.



The “Cuevas de Nerja” are located next to the village of Maro and extend over some five kilometers of galleries.Its multiple and varied spelotems (stalactites, stalagmites, colums, castings) its cave paintings, archaeoligical sites and strata (ranging from 25,000 to 3,600 years befere the present) mehe it a first-order geological element within the Andalusian karst heritage.

It whas declared “Historical-Artistic Monument” in 1961, “Good of Cultural Interest” in 1985 and in 2005, “Well of Cultural Interest” with category of Archaeological Zone.

In its interior have been found paintings of seals that could be the first work of rock art known in the history of humanity, 42, 000 years old.


Figiliana is without a doubt one of the most charming white villages of Málaga. Awarded by the first National Award of Beautification in 1982, its historical center is Historic Artistic Complexsince 2014.

The whitewashed wall, its narrow streets, on endless stairways that run through the town, are the Moorish heritage that the passage of time has left in the old town of Frigiliana. It also located at the foot of a Natural Park and a few kilometers from the Mediterranean. The winding lanes are dotted whith small craftshops dedicated to esparto, clay, glass, wool or local produce. 

The gastronomic star of Frigiliana in the cane honey that its made in the only sugarcane honey factory in Europe.
